Jon will be hosting a discussion between actors Aidan Quinn and Jon Pantoliano presented by the Imagery Honors Program at the Sonoma Valley Film Festival on Saturday, April 2. The SVFF is in it's eight year of celebrating independent filmmaking. TV Alert: Finally a new episode of Dinner For Five! The new episode will air April 1st at 9pm CST on IFC. Jon's guests are: Timothy Olyphant, Jay Mohr, David Milch and Michael Rappaport. After that, catch "Still Swingin': A Look Back at an Indie Classic", where cast and crew of Swingers discuss the film. They will air the movie Swingers afterward. 3.13.2005... The official site for Zathura, Jon's latest directorial effort, is now online HERE. HERE is the direct link to view the new trailer for Zathura as well. Looks fantastic! 11.10.2004... ELF, the Christmas comedy directed by Jon Favreau and starring WillFerrell, will be released on DVD next Tuesday, the 16th. HERE is a little article from Yahoo that discusses the DVD's extras. Some of those extras are audio commentaries by both Jon Favreau and Will Ferrell, deleted scenes, several featurettes and a few games. Brett Fetzer, who reviewed ELF for amazon.com says, "Director Jon Favreau shepherds the movie through all the obligatory Christmas cliches and focuses on material that's sometimes subtle and consistently surprising. Frankly, Elf feels miraculous." So if you missed ELF at the theater, do yourself a favour and catch it on DVD!!! 9.9.2004... Thanks to Christine for the heads up and the pic! ![]() TV Alert: Jon joins Ben Affleck, Ed Asner and others for a game of poker on the WPT Hollywood Home Game this Sunday - 8.29.2004 at 8pm CST, on the Travel Channel. Thanks Taxvictim! (For those that missed it, Jon came in second place to Ed Asner but still won some money for his charity, CancerCare.) June 3, 2004... This past weekend Jon was in Dewey Beach, DE to help his pal Vince Vaughn emcee a charity event. The event was a special stand-up comedy show organized by Vaughn to benefit the Army Emergency Relief Organization in the spirit of Memorial Day. The show was held at the Bottle & Cork and featured comedians Brett Ernst, Ahmed Ahmed, Sam Tripoli and Sebastian. Favreau will be a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday, May 19th at 10:00am CT. May 6, 2004... Jon has signed on as director of Zathura, the long awaited sequel to Jumanji. Joblo.com says, "The sequel is similar to the original but instead of a jungle adventure, this time the kids become involved in an intergalactic board game with meteors, robots and a "Zyborg pirate." No word on a start date, but the film is scheluled for release in 2005. Jon's friend and Dinner For Five producer, Peter Billingsley is also on board as a co-producer. May 3, 2004... Catch new episodes of Dinner For Five Friday nights at 9pm CT on IFC. Just a reminder that the 1st season DVD can now be purchased at The Artfilm Collection. Jon Favreau received the "Outstanding Contribution to Film" Award at the 2nd Annual IndiProducer Awards Gala held on Friday, February 27th. at the Writers Guild Theatre in Beverly Hills. Yahoo's episode guide says, "The Kind of Queens "Trash Talker", Episode #618. Doug's grade school nemesis (Jon Favreau) is Deacon's new friend and may become Carrie's new boss." The King of Queens airs at 8:00pm CST. December 22, 2003... According to Filmstew.com Jon has dropped out of directing Date School. It was to star Drew Barrymore and Owen Wilson, but they have dropped out as well. The first season of Jon's show, Dinner For Five, is coming out on DVD. It will be available for rental from Netflix on December 16. November 17, 2003... Catch Jon tonight and all week on Jimmy Kimmel Live as he co-hosts with Jimmy all week! Check your local listings. ELF, directed by Jon Favreau, hits #1 in it's second week of release, bringing in $27.2 million. This brings Elf's 10-day total to $71 .3 million. Congrats Jon! November 10, 2003... Congrats to Jon Favreau for the successful debut of ELF this weekend! Jon was the director of the comedy that stars Will Ferrell. Elf debuted Friday and for the three day weekend it took in 32.1 million dollars! Excellent! Novermber 10, 2003... Last night Jon's new movie, The Big Empty, premiered at the AFI Filmfest in Los Angeles. Jon and co-stars Sean Bean and Joey Lauren Adams were in attendance as well as Jon's friends Vince Vaughn and Peter Billingsley. The film will open in LA/NY on the 14th. Jon chatted with Steve for several minutes and you can hear his interview at SteveDahl.com. Jon's segment of the show is at 2:01:40 for those that want to skip straight to that part. November 5, 2003... Jon confirms on the Steve Dahl show that his next project is directing Date School, a film that will star Drew Barrymore. Owen Wilson is set to star as well.
