Jon, who is
getting darn good at updating his fans via
Myspace, will be hosting an AFI screening of the Buster Keaton
classic "Steamboat Bill, Jr." this weekend. The special event will
be held at Skirball Center in Los Angeles this Sunday at 2pm. Jon
has "provided to have a pianist accompany the screening". The
screening is part of the AFI Director's Screening Program and
will be preceded by a Q&A with Jon. Click HERE for full info.

Tomorrow Jon will be a guest at ComiCon. He will be in on the Marvel panel to discuss his upcoming project Iron Man. The panelis set for 3:30-4:30pm. From the ComiCon site: The next great era of comic book films begins as Marvel Studios launches its new slate. The studio is currently developing many of its landmark titles for adaptation to the screen, including Iron Man... At this presentation, the directors of Iron Man (Jon Favreau), The Incredible Hulk, and Ant-Man (Edgar Wright) will share their visions for these highly anticipated films. 06.09.06... Jon is one of this week's guests on the weekly internet show Amazon Fishbowl with Bill Maher. HERE is the link to view it. TV Alert! - Jon will be on The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson on Monday, June 5. 06.05.06... The Break-Up opens with a $38 million take this weekend. If you didn't yet get to see it, be sure to next weekend. Jon has some great scenes. One of them had everyone in the theater cracking up. Nice to see Jon be the comedic relief for a change. =) TV Alert! - Jon will be on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight (May 24) on ABC. 04.28.06... It's official!! Jon has finally announced that Iron Man will be his next project. The Marvel superhero flick should start filming early next year - I was told January 1st. Read the announcement from Jon on his blog, HERE. The Yahoo Movie News announcement is HERE. As you can see from his blog, Jon is still attached to direct Jon Carter of Mars at this point. However, Paramount is not ready to proceed with that project at the moment. 03.16.06... Australian movie mag, FilmInk, features a one page article on Jon in their latest issue. They have been kind of enough to send a glimpse of that article. It can be found in our Image Gallery. The mag also features a great review of Zathura, which can be found HERE. FilmInk is available in Australia and New Zealand on the 15th each month, and can be ordered for those that live elsewhere. The reunion took place in Aspen at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival. See the photos HERE. TV Alert! - Jon guests on Monk this Friday, March 10! Monk airs on USA network at 10EST/9CST. 03.08.06... A good interview with Jon at the A.V. Club. Jon discusses the Swingers 10th Anniversary, John Carter of Mars, MySpace and fan/celebrity interaction. 02.26.06... The U.S. Comedy Arts Festival will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of a little movie called Swingers this year. The festival runs March 8 - 12 in Aspen, Colorado. It will showcase Swingers and reunite actors Jon Favreau, Vince Vaughn and Ron Livingston. The USA Today article can be found HERE. 02.14.06... Don't forget Zathura is available on DVD today! HERE is a great review from DVD Talk. Apparently they loved the movie and DVD, saying, "Zathura is why movies are magic." and that in time, "Zathura will take its rightful place as a true blue family classic." The DVD also includes what DVD Talk considered to be a "terrific" commentary from Jon Favreau and co-producer, Peter Billingsley. 02.07.06... Jon Favreau will be directing a pilot for ABC. The half-hour comedy, In Case of Emergency, has an order for six episodes thus far. It appears that Jon will only be involved with the pilot as far as directing, however, since he already has several feature films in the works. The FilmStew article can be found HERE. Jon received a Cheer in the Cheers & Jeers section of this week's TV Guide. "Cheers to Jon Favreau for his hugely funny guest work on My Name Is Earl. As the vile, seemingly karma-proof supervisor at a fast-food restaurant where Earl(Jason Lee) had to work, Favreau made The Office's clueless Michael Stott(Steve Carell) look like the world's best boss. Favreau hasn't earned such big laughs on the small screen since he played Ultimate Fighting Champion wannabe Pete Becker on Friends way back in '97." 01.25.06... 01.13.06... Jon will guest in an upcoming episode of the hit show, Monk on USA Network. Tony Shalhoub tells TV Guide, "We're blessed that we can attract this caliber of actors. Jon plays a dentist. The writers are trying to re-create the moment from "Marathon Man. (...) We establish early on in that episode that Monk has a super-phobia of dentists. Jon's so lovely and avuncular and sweet- and then turns out hideous!" ***Updated to say TV.com has this episode tentatively scheduled for March 10. Hopefully we will know an airdate before it airs, unlike with Jon's episode of My Name is Earl. His episode aired Thurs. (13th) and I apologize for no advance warning. Jon was not listed as a guest on Yahoo TV or TV.com but luckily I record the show anyhow and will get screen caps up as soon as I can. 01.05.06... Empire Online has an small article/interview with Jon regarding his sci-fi project, John Carter of Mars. I have added this article on our site, HERE. No airdate listed as of yet, but it will be in the second half of the current season. If you have yet to see this great show, Jon's episode will be a great place to start. Also, in the upcoming issue of Maxim (the Haylie Duff cover) there is a segment with Jon called "celebrity adviser". "The Swingers star and Elf director explains why there's nothing like a Salt Lake City bachelor party." Keeping in mind that this is a men's mag, i'm hoping one of Jon's male fans will find it in their hearts to scan Jon's segment and email it to me. TV Alert! - Jon will be a guest on Isaac Mizrahi's talk show, Isaac, on 12.14. Isaac airs on Oxygen, and the episode will repeat several times this week. Check listings for your local time. 11.19.05... Zap2it and Filmstew report that Jon may sign on for another Sony project. This one, Johnny Zero, would deal with the origins of hot-rodding. Jon is quoted by The Hollywood Reporter as saying, "I've always been intrigued with the culture and music of the post-war period. The birth of hot rodding marked a new chapter in the American dream." IFC has confirmed, stating, " We are no longer producing new episodes of Dinner For Five." They will be airing last season's repeats sometime after January - so if you missed them, set those TiVos. The Zathura premiere was held last night at the Village Theater in Los Angeles. There are photos up on Getty. In attendance were Jon and Joya Favreau, co-producer Peter Billingsley, Vince Vaughn and star Dax Shepard. 10.19.05... TV ALERT! Jon will be on The Apprentice tomorrow night at 8pm (CST) on NBC. He is there to promote his upcoming sci-fi adventure flick, Zathura. From what I understand, the contestants will have to find a way to market the film for Sony. 10.18.05... According to Empire Online and Hollywood Reporter, Jon has written the story for an upcoming CGI project at Sony Pictures Animation titled Neanderthals. Also, Congrats to Jon. On October 25, Jon will receive an award for Director of the Year at the ShowEast convention in Orlando. 10.14.05... Zathura premiered at the first annual Fantastic Fest film festival in Austin on October 6. HERE's an article about it. To the bottom right of the article is a "watch the video" section where you can view an interview clip with Jon and Dax Shepard. 10.06.05... Variety reports that Jon has signed on to direct the film, John Carter of Mars, for Paramount. The movie, based on Edgar Rice Burroughs sci-fi series, involves a soldier who goes through a time portal to another planet while trying to escape Indians during the Civil War. The same article from Variety states that Jon has also created a sitcom for FOX. He will write and possibly direct the pilot. (I'm assuming this is the Faizon Love project.) 9.12.05... Jon has voiced a character in an animated movie from Sony called Open Season. Jon lends his voice to Reilly the Beaver in the flick, which is due in September of 2006. Just a reminder that the Dinner For Five nomination was for Outstanding Nonfiction Series and that category is awarded at the Creative Arts Award show, not the main Emmy show. The Creative Arts Award ceremony will be held this Sunday, the 11th. However, it won't be broadcast until later. the food!" For anyone able to attend, Jon's presentation is in Hall H. 6.23.05... Jon will reunite with pal Vince Vaughn in The Break Up. According to MTV.com and E-online Jon will play best friend to Vince's character. Vince told MTV.com.... "He's going to come into 'The Break Up' and play my best friend," Vaughn reported, saying that the two friends will switch up their usual styles this time around. "There's no one funnier that Favreau, or brighter than Favreau. He [usually] makes himself the straight guy and sets me up to be the comic relief, but he's one of the best at being that comic-relief guy, so he gets the chance to do that a little bit here in 'The Break Up.'
