Paramount has announced the release date for Iron Man 2 on DVD and
Blu-ray. The blockbuster will hit shelves on September 28, and
will be available in three different versions. There will be a
single disc DVD, a Special Edition 2-disc DVD and a 3-disc combo
Blu-ray/DVD with digital copy. The 2 and 3-disc sets will
feature a commentary by director Jon Favreau, as well as several
featurettes. And the 3-disc Blu-ray combo will also have a
documentary called Ultimate Iron
Man: The Making of Iron Man 2.
Jon has been busy filming his latest directorial effort over the past month. Cowboys and Aliens, which stars Daniel Craig, Sam Rockwell, Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde, is set in the Old West where Apache Indians and settlers have to work together to fight off aliens that crash land near their town. The film will release July 29, 2011.

Jon may have a new flick in the works. Cowboys and Aliens already has a script and big time producers like Steven Spielberg and Ron Howard but it appears that Jon isn't ready to officially confirm his involvement as director of the western/sci-fi hybrid flick. Jon tells MTV that it all depends on working out the dates. Read the article and watch the video of his interview, HERE.

10.10.09... Don't forget to get out and see Couples Retreat this weekend. The new comedy written by Jon debuted to an estimated $12,330,000 on it's opening day! Congrats to Jon, Vince and director Peter Billingsley.

02.08.09... It's very rare for Jon to be spotted by the paparazzi but that's what happened yesterday at LAX as he returned from filming Couples Retreat in Chicago. As is typical the paps couldn't come up with any great questions so they brought up the fact that he shares a name with Barack Obama's speechwriter, Jon Favreau. No, they are not the same person but according to this Jon Favreau he has met the like-named speechwriter and he's a good guy. Watch the video at TMZ, HERE.

Entertainment Weekly acknowledged that Jon stole every scene he was in in Four Christmases! The caption says, "One of our Favreau stars of 2008 steals all his scenes in Four Christmases." Very cool, and I agree. =)

They were heading out to Bora Bora to start filming Couples Retreat, which I reported Jon had been working on the screenplay for a couple of months ago. 10.21.08... TVAlert! Jon was on hand to accept the "Best Science Fiction Movie" award for Iron Man at Spike TV's 2008 Scream Awards. The show took place on October 18 but will air tonight at 9pm ET, 8pm CT on Spike TV.

09.24.08... It's official - Jon and Vince Vaughn will be starring in the comedy, Couples Retreat. That is the screenplay I reported Jon was working on recently. The movie is scheduled to start shooting in October and will also star Jason Bateman and Faizon Love. It will be directed by longtime Jon and Vince collaborator and friend, Peter Billingsley.
The storyline for Couples Retreat centers around a troubled married couple who are serious about getting their marriage on track at a retreat and other couples who are there to take advantage of the free vacation. They soon find the couples therapy is not optional though. According to Jon, Bateman will play the husband who is serious about getting his marriage together but the largest role will be played by Vince.

09.10.08... Jon and Robert Downey, Jr. were on hand to give a live commentary during a screening of Iron Man by the American Cinematique at the Aero in Los Angeles on September 6. They followed it with a short Q&A. You can see some clips and pics from the Q&A at Laist, HERE.
